Barbara works from her studio in Hampshire. She draws her inspiration from her love of wild and remote places.
The wilds of the Scottish highlands are a constant source of inspiration. The ancient landscapes opposing the changeable weather give a harsh and majestic beauty.
Barbara works mainly in oils or acrylics and builds up the work with layers of glazes.
In addition to brushes and pallet knives she uses home-made squeegees for manipulating the paint. The effect can be stunning and often unexpected!
Barbara is a self taught artist with a love of the rich textures of nature.
Barbara is also a writer of fantasy fiction and her imaginative creation of other worlds is displayed in some of her paintings. Follow this link for information on Barbara's writing.
